BAMFest swim meet was truly a team effort to pull off the meet and we are blessed with some very generous people around here. I’m afraid of missing people to thank if I start listing all those I saw helping out. Let me just say that we had a super response for meet set-up and meet jobs, and we owe a big Thank You! to our meet organizers and directors, Jay Stemmler and Allan Thorpe, along with advisor, Kate Carr, and their families who supported and contributed, too. Thank you also to the BAM Board who made sure logistics like money, entries, ribbons, concession, etc… were taken care of, too-I know there were many involved in this process, and you are appreciated! As mentioned before, it was a team effort, and BAMmers could be found in every area of the meet. Thanks for wrangling your families in for timing, too! We had a record number of athletes and entries at the meet this year, making it the largest in BAMFest history.

A couple of responses heard at the meet or in e-mails so far:

“Just got home from BamFest. It was a lovely event. Thanks so much for all the hard work! Wew! :P”
“I could definitely tell who the BAM swimmers were; they all raced into the wall without breathing and finished by touching the pad under water.”
“It was fun to see adults swimming-they are just as excited at meets as we are!” (from a young BISC swimmer timing for us)
“I think I’m hooked! BAMFest was a great first meet! So well run and organized. I was pleasantly surprised.”
“Bainbridge knows how to put on a great event.”
“It was evident how much effort went into this meet. I’m telling my team and bringing more next year.”
“It was a very fun meet. Exciting to see so many people participating and swimming well.”
“Good job, BAM!”

Many athletes qualified for Short Course Spring Nationals held in Greensboro, North Carolina, April 26-29, 2012. Click here to see the qualifying times.
